中国政府发布的嫦娥一号拍摄的月亮的第一幅照片是真还是假？许多人觉得有假。有外国专家 (Emily Lakdawalla) 说话了：她认为嫦娥照片不是假的！ -- 但也没有新的发现 (the Chang'e image isn't fake! -- but there's no new feature in it, either)。发布的照片是一个经过处理的产品，它被人做了一点微小的改动 (the one released image is a processed product, and was altered slightly)。
东升认为：1. 人们怀疑是一件好事，不能因为是哪个大人物揭幕而不能怀疑，一句顶一万句的时代已经一去不复返了；2. 我相信中国的照片是真的，但问题是，如果证明了第一张照片里就含有错误的话，怎么能让人相信以后发布的照片呢？3. 外国人的这次“证明”并不能算是最后的证明，中国还由机会可以给出反证来；4. 我认为最好的办法就是把原数据公开出来，造福于全人类，也可以让世界的科学工作者用以证明中国人卫星确实到达了月球轨道，也确实送回了图像的数据。
